KALIBO, Aklan -- A new group was formed to manage the Kalibo Sto. Niño Ati-Atihan Festival.

The Kalibo Sr. Sto. Niño Ati-Atihan Management Council (Kassmaco) was formed through an executive order issued by Mayor Emerson Lachica. It will be headed by Apolonio Zaraspe, president of both the Energy FM Kalibo and the Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster ng Pilipinas-Kalibo.

Lachica asked Zaraspe to look for personalities who will help him manage Kassmaco and promote the festival comes January 2020.

In January this year, Albert Menez, who chaired the now defunct Kalibo Sto. Niño Ati-atihan Festival Incorporated (Kasafi), resigned from the post, saying he already helped organize the festival for nine consecutive years and he wanted others to also manage it.

Before Kasafi, the group was called Kalibo Ati-atihan Management Board. (SunStar Philippines)
