Operation of motor bancas to and from Boracay suspended

BORACAY has been isolated from the rest of Malay town after motorboats plying to and from the island has been temporarily suspended beginning Monday, March 30.

Malay Acting Mayor Floribar Bautista said he signed the Executive Order 15-A, placing the whole town of Malay, including Boracay, under enhanced community quarantine.

The order is expected to last until April 15, 2020.

"Distribution of food packs among the household has already started, " said Bautista.

Earlier, the Provincial Health Office reported that the doctor of the Don Ciriaco Tirol Hospital in Boracay has been diagnosed with coronavirus disease (Covid-19).

The 37-year-old doctor is now recovering at the Aklan Training Center in Barangay Old Buswajg, Kalibo.
