OVER 100 companies are expected to participate in a job fair that the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) will hold on June 1 at the Iloilo Provincial Capitol’s Casa Real.

PESO-Iloilo head Francisco Heler Jr. said they are targeting to invite 150 companies to participate in the job fair and offer around 16,000 jobs.

So far, 93 local companies and 20 recruitment agencies for overseas employment have said they will join the activity, Heler said in a statement.

Expected employers include business process outsourcing (BPO) providers, retail and merchandising, automobile, hospitals, banks, malls, hotels, engineering and logistics.

Heler said there will be help desks that will be manned by personnel of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (Tesda), National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) and Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA). THREAT. According to a Capitol consultant, the Cebu City Government is threatening to shut down the Cebu North Bus Terminal at the back of SM City Cebu (left) and the Cebu South Bus Terminal along N. Bacalso Ave. for operating without a business permit. The Province, which runs both terminals, maintains that it operates the facilities as a public service for passengers going to the province and vice versa. /
