THE Iloilo City Government reiterated the guidelines and health measures to be observed during the holiday season, so people may celebrate safely and with vigilance amid the pandemic.

Mayor Jerry Treñas's executive order provides for the holding of safe celebrations. The guidelines include the following:

* Limit the Christmas and New Year gatherings to members of the family living in the same household.

* Work or non-family related gatherings are highly discouraged, while virtual get-togethers are encouraged.

* Persons who are experiencing any signs of flu or symptoms of Covid-19 must refrain from attending gatherings.

* Attendees should practice non-contact means of greeting other family members without touching, hugging, and handshakes.

* Attendees should continue to be vigilant in applying standard minimum health protocols such as proper physical distancing, frequent handwashing and non-sharing of utensils.

"Let us celebrate the holidays safely. Protocols for any activity are for everybody's well-being. Let us continue to follow the protocols and minimum health standards such as wearing of face mask and face shield, and observing physical distancing especially in public places," Covid-19 focal person Dr. Roland J. Fortuna said. (PR)
