RIVERMAYA rocks Iloilo through a benefit concert for Aeta community on Friday night, May 25, at Iloilo City Times Square.

The members of the band, Mike Elgar, Nathan Azarcon, Ryan Peralta with the participation of Ira Cruz, came to lend a hand for a community project.

Mark Escueta was unable to accompany the band due to his wife, Jolina Magdangal, who is expected to give birth to their second child.

The benefit concert is in partnership of the Junior Chamber International (JCI) Ilang-Ilang and Iloilo City Times Square.

It mainly focused on JCI's project named “HEAVEN” (Housing, Education, Assistance, Economic Development and Nutrition) or specifically for their existing program called the “Langit sa Lanit.”

For three years, the community empowerment program embraced the provision of Aetas' needs in Lanit in Jaro district.

JCI Iloilo Ilang-ilang secretary and project chairperson Jenelyn Belloga said that the proceeds from the concert will be delivered to the livelihood project for the Aetas.

“Ang pinakabudlay nga part pirme ang economic development so amu na siya ang pending namon,” Belloga stressed. (The hardest part is always the Economic Development and that's our pending project.) (Carolyn Jane Abello)
