Sunnexdesk

THE Technical Institute of Iloilo City (TIIC) Molo Campus is eyeing to offer free two-year Hospitality Management Technology course for beneficiaries.

Mayor Jerry Treñas' executive assistant Ma. Mathilde Octavio said TIIC-Molo already has Housekeeping, Bread and Pastry, Food and Beverage Service and Cooking National Certificates (NC) II to complement the technical-vocational (tech-voc) course offering.

The new course will be offered with embedded competency to be ladderized later to Bachelor's Degree in Hospitality Management.

"We are now working out that the proposed two-year program would be ladderized so that the graduates can continue to Third Year in Bachelor of Science in Tourism Management at Iloilo City Community College (ICCC)," Octavio said.

She added they also proposed the establishment of 15 classrooms at the back of adjacent Alternative Learning System Building of Division of Iloilo City that will be used for expansion programs of ICCC and TIIC.

Hospitality courses are considered in-demand due to rising influx of visitors and increasing tourism needs. (PR)
