SOME 671 workers manning Iloilo City's vaccination process have been subjected to reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) swab testing as preventive measure against Covid-19.

"I have ordered the compulsory swabbing for RT-PCR tests of all personnel involved in the vaccination. I want everyone to be safe so that our vaccination can proceed. I will always pray for their safety as they continue to perform their duties to keep everyone protected from the virus," Mayor Jerry Treñas stressed.

City Hall has also requested from the national government for additional allocation of vaccines.

"I am in constant communication with Sec. Carlito Galvez and Sec. Vince Dizon for more vaccines for Iloilo City considering the situation. He promised to reallocate more vaccines to cities facing a surge of cases like Iloilo City. I appeal to everyone to be vaccinated if you have a chance," Treñas said.

The City's orders of AstraZeneca vaccines are expected to start arriving in July. (Iloilo City PIO)

THREAT. According to a Capitol consultant, the Cebu City Government is threatening to shut down the Cebu North Bus Terminal at the back of SM City Cebu (left) and the Cebu South Bus Terminal along N. Bacalso Ave. for operating without a business permit. The Province, which runs both terminals, maintains that it operates the facilities as a public service for passengers going to the province and vice versa. /
