PLDT Enterprise, Century Pacific join hands for Covid-19 response operations

AMID the ongoing modified general community quarantine (MGCQ) to fight the Covid-19 pandemic, PLDT Enterprise pledges connectivity support to the Century Pacific Food Inc. to ensure its continuous flow of operations.

PLDT Enterprise provided Smart Pocket Wi-Fi units for the Filipino food manufacturer to help them in shipping tuna and sardines from Mindanao to Luzon as part of their ongoing Covid-19 operations.

The Smart Pocket Wi-Fi units will be used by Century Pacific’s personnel and teams deployed in Laguna, Taguig, and Manila. The devices are currently utilized to access the company’s internal systems, to enable employees monitor the pace of their product delivery which include dispatch of canned goods, frozen goods, and dairy products.

The pocket Wi-Fi units also help Century Pacific’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) team to speed up their communications in terms of distributing food packs and charity donations to different local government units and communities severely impacted by Covid-19.

Mary Jennifer Tan, AVP-Group Procurement director of Century Pacific Group, expressed gratitude to PLDT Enterprise for enabling them to quickly respond to the current situation.

“We are thankful for the support in our CSR initiatives. We are swamped with requests for donations from various organizations and these pocket Wi-Fis from PLDT will definitely give us more capacity to serve and ensure that our products are made available,” Tan said.

The provision of Smart Pocket Wi-Fi units help speed up the operations of Century Pacific -- ensuring goods are made available to Filipinos seeking assistance for relief efforts.

“We are all doing our best to support the whole community in this ongoing quest to fight the pandemic. And enabling connectivity for Century Pacific Food Inc. is part of our commitment in helping the Filipinos during this difficult time,” said Jovy Hernandez, ePLDT president and CEO and SVP and head for PLDT and Smart Enterprise Business Groups.

Century Pacific Food Inc. is the country’s biggest canned food maker, with products such as Century Tuna, Argentina, 555, Swift, Birch Tree, Angel, Blue Bay, Wow, Fresca Tuna, Lucky, Shanghai Luncheon Meat, Home Pride, Hunt’s, and Coco Mama. (PR)
