THE film industry in the Philippines has lost two of its pillars with the passing of veteran actors Amalia Fuentes and Antonio "Tony" Mabesa.

Fuentes died Saturday morning, October 5, at the age of 79. Mabesa, on the other hand, died Friday evening, October 4, at the age of 84.

Actor Niño Muhlach, the nephew of Fuentes, confirmed her death in an Instagram post Saturday.
