TWO Jesuit priests, 12 seminarians and five personnel at the Ateneo Jesuit Residence in Quezon City have tested positive for the virus that causes coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19), Jesuit Communications executive director Father Emmanuel Alfonso said Tuesday, September 28, 2021.

In a television interview, Alfonso said the 19 individuals were from three of the Jesuit houses which are currently under lockdown.

Alfonso said one of the two priests was hospitalized, but was in a stable condition.

The others, who either have mild or no symptoms, are confined in an isolation facility managed by the Philippine Red Cross inside the Ateneo de Manila University.

Alfonso said the priests and seminarians have been confined inside the campus. He said they suspect that the carrier was one of the personnel, either kitchen or maintenance staff, who go in and out of the facility. (Third Anne Peralta-Malonzo / SunStar Philippines)
