THE 1Sambayan coalition on Thursday, September 30, 2021, nominated Vice President Leni Robredo as its presidential candidate for the 2022 national elections.

Former Supreme Court Justice Antonio Carpio, the opposition coalition’s lead convenor, made the announcement during an online press briefing.

“We hope that she will accept the challenge,” said Carpio.

In a statement, Robredo expressed gratitude to the group but said she has yet to come up with a decision for the upcoming polls.

Sa mga susunod na araw, samahan ninyo akong magdasal pa, that our decision will be what is best for our country. Muli, maraming salamat sa inyong tiwala,” she added. (SunStar Philippines)

THREAT. According to a Capitol consultant, the Cebu City Government is threatening to shut down the Cebu North Bus Terminal at the back of SM City Cebu (left) and the Cebu South Bus Terminal along N. Bacalso Ave. for operating without a business permit. The Province, which runs both terminals, maintains that it operates the facilities as a public service for passengers going to the province and vice versa. /
