TWO suspected members of Amim Boratong drug syndicate were killed in a buy-bust operation in Pasig City before dawn Thursday, August 22.

National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) director Major General Guillermo Eleazar identified the slain suspects as Jalal Salamoden and Samuano Rason.

He said operatives from the NCRPO Regional Drug Enforcement Unit together with the Pasig City police and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency conducted a drug bust at around 2 a.m. against the suspects at Felix Avenue corner Kabayanihan Street, Barangay Dela Paz.

After handing over the illegal substance, one of the suspects fired at the policemen prompting them to retaliate.

The suspects were killed on the spot.

A kilo of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride (shabu) with an estimated value of P6.8 million as well as two guns and several ammunitions were recovered from the suspects.

Eleazar said the suspects were members of the Boratong drug syndicate led by Amim Boratong, who was arrested in 2006 and detained at the National Bilibid Prison.

He was allegedly responsible for the shabu tiangge in Pasig City which was dismantled following his arrest.

Boratong has allegedly continued to take part in illegal drugs transactions inside the jail. (SunStar Philippines)
