3 drug suspects killed in Bulacan shootout

THREE suspected drug personalities were killed in an encounter with the police on Sunday evening in San Jose del Monte in Bulacan.

Police Colonel Emma Libunao, acting regional director of the Bulacan Provincial Police Office (PPO), identified one of the suspects as Jay- ar Borromeo.

The two others were identified only as alias Liit and alias Junior.

Libunao said the three were the subject of a drug bust at around 11 p.m. on Sunday, February 2.

The operation turned into an encounter when the suspects sensed they were dealing with policemen and engaged them in a shootout.

Libunao said Borromeo was included in the drugs watchlist of the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA).

Confiscated from the suspects were 30 small heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride), 13 fired cartridges cases of cal. 9MM and a tricycle without plate number.

Other items recovered from the suspects were one caliber .38 revolver Smith and Wesson with three pieces of fired cartridge cases and a live ammunition, an improvised shotgun (sumpak) with 12 gauge shot shell, an improvised hand gun (sumpak) loaded with one fired cartridge case of caliber .38, and buy bust money.
