4,806 more Covid-19 cases added to PH tally

THE Department of Health (DOH) recorded 4,806 additional cases of coronavirus disease (Covid-19) in the country, while the death toll also increased with 260 new fatalities logged Thursday, October 21, 2021.

Thursday’s case bulletin of the health department showed that the country’s total confirmed cases was already 2,740,111 as of 4 p.m.

Of the total caseload, 65,835 or 24 percent were active infections.

About 78.7 percent of these active cases were considered mild, 6.2 percent were asymptomatic, 8.53 percent were moderate, 4.6 percent were severe, and two percent were critical.

The DOH also said that 5,934 more individuals have recovered from Covid-19, bringing the total recoveries to 2,633,039 or 96.1 percent of the country’s total cases.

The 260 new deaths reported Thursday, October 21, further pushed the death toll to 41,237, which is equivalent to 1.50 percent.

The country’s positivity rate was 10.9 percent.
