Another Sinovac vaccine shipment arrives

AN ADDITIONAL 1.5 million doses of the Sinovac vaccine arrived via a Cebu Pacific flight shortly before 8 a.m. Friday, May 7, 2021.

This latest shipment brought to 5,000 doses the volume of Sinovac vaccine, CoronaVac, delivered to the Philippines.

Including the AstraZeneca and Sputnik vaccines, a total of 5,540,600 doses have been delivered. Vaccinations began on March 1, 2021, a day after the first shipment arrived.

As of May 4, 3,970,680 doses have been distributed to 3,505 vaccination sites across the country.

About half, or 2,065,235 doses, have been administered to 1,744,649 Filipinos. Of this number, 32,586 have been fully vaccinated or have received two vaccine doses.

The Department of Health (DOH) said Cagayan Valley, Western Visayas, Eastern Visayas, Northern Mindanao and Caraga have used all the vaccines initially allocated to them by the national government. (SunStar Philippines)
