THE Antipolo Cathedral on Saturday, March 25, 2023, called on the Filipino faithful to pray for the quick recovery of ailing Barangay Ginebra Kings skipper LA Tenorio, who was recently diagnosed with colon cancer.

In a social media post, the International Shrine of Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage called on the faithful to join in praying for Tenorio's swift recovery.

"Our dear mother, Mary, pray that God's grace would surround LA Tenorio's deterioration," said the Antipolo Cathedral.

"As one Catholic church, let's take a moment and solemnly ask to pray for the PBA basketball star's recovery," it furthered.

The Antipolo Cathedral issued the appeal as the former Philippine men's basketball team member visited the former last Friday.

The Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) held its games last Friday at the nearby Ynares Center.

"He pleaded for prayers for steadfast recovery," it said.

"He has been a devotee of Our Lady of Antipolo since he was a young child," added the Antipolo Cathedral.

Earlier in the week, Tenorio announced that he was diagnosed with Stage 3 colon cancer.

Tenorio is set to undergo treatment in the next few months in the Philippines and Singapore. (SunStar Philippines)
