AROUND 400,000 tourism industry workers who lost their jobs due to the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) pandemic may still avail of the one-time cash assistance from the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE).

In a televised public briefing, Labor Assistant Secretary Dominique Tutay said they were still open for applications for cash assistance under the Covid-19 Adjustment Measures Program (Camp).

Tutay said the program has already reached about 171,000 workers.

The program has a P3-billion budget that is intended to benefit 600,000 tourism industry workers.

Camp provides a one-time cash assistance of P5,000 to workers under the Bayanihan to Heal as One Act (Bayanihan 2). (HDT / SunStar Philippines)
