Cessna plane carrying 4 people missing in Albay

A CESSNA plane carrying four people was reported missing in Albay on Saturday morning, February 18, 2023, the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (Caap) said.

The emergency is now in Distress Phase.

The Caap said in a memorandum that the Cessna 340 will callsign RP-C2080 departed from Bicol International Airport enroute Manila at 6:43 a.m Saturday, while it was abeam Camalig Bypass Road.

The plane carried a pilot, a crew member and two passengers.

"Communication search with Caap ATS facilities, Manila Area Control Center, Manila Approach, Naga Tower, Clark Tower, Sangley Airport yielded negative results for further information on the aircraft," Caap said.

Officers from its Aircraft Accident Investigation and Inquiry Board have been dispatched by CAAP to provide assistance in the emergency.

The incident is the second time a Cessna plane went missing in 2023.
