THE Commission on Elections (Comelec) on Friday, August 6, 2021, announced that Filipinos planning to vote in the May 2022 elections may still get registered despite the imposition of the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) in Metro Manila.

In an advisory, the Comelec said its Office for Overseas Voting (Ofov) at the Palacio del Gobernador Building in Intramuros, Manila will remain open during the ECQ on August 6 to 20 to accept applications for overseas voter registration.

However, interested individuals must set appointments before heading to the Ofov by sending a message to https://m.facebook.com/overseasvotingph.

Earlier, the Comelec suspended all voter registration activities in all Offices of the Election Officer (OEOs) in the National Capital Region (NCR) during the ECQ on August 6 to 20.

Also suspended are satellite voter registration activities in barangays, malls, and other off-site venues within Metro Manila. (HDT / SunStar Philippines)
