Daily Covid-19 deaths top 100 for 5th day in a row

FOR the fifth consecutive day, the Department of Health (DOH) reported more than 100 deaths from coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) in a day.

In its case bulletin on Saturday, June 19, 2021, DOH listed 153 deaths, 6,959 new cases and 9,407 recoveries.

The new cases brought the total case count to 1,353,220, including 59,439 active cases.

The additional deaths raised the death toll to 23,538. The case fatality rate remained at 1.74 percent.

Total recoveries went up to 1,270,243, or 93.9 percent of the total number of cases.

Six laboratories were not able to submit their data to the Covid-19 Document Repository System last June 17.

Of the active cases, 92.2 percent were mild cases, 3.6 percent were asymptomatic cases, 1.7 percent were severe cases, 1.3 percent were critical cases, and 1.2 percent were moderate cases. (HDT / SunStar Philippines)
