THE Department of Health (DOH) on Sunday, March 15, confirmed that three Covid-19 patients have passed on, bringing the death toll in the country to 11.

The DOH also said 29 new cases have been listed as of 12 noon Sunday. This brought the total number of Covid-19 patients in the Philippines to 140.

In its 4 p.m. Sunday advisory, the DOH said Patients 9 (PH9), PH54 and PH39 have died.

PH9, the 86-year-old American male earlier reported to be in critical condition, expired at 2:42 a.m. Saturday, March 14.

The DOH said he died from multiple organ failure, septic shock, acute respiratory distress syndrome, community-acquired pneumonia, acute kidney injury, chronic kidney disease, hypertension type II, diabetes mellitus, chronic artery disease and Covid-19.

He had travel history from the US and Korea.

The DOH also confirmed the deaths of PH54 and PH39.

He was the employee at the House of Representatives who was found positive for Covid-19 despite having no history of travel and no history of exposure 14 days prior to the onset of symptoms.

PH39, a 64-year-old Filipino male in Negros Oriental, expired at 11:09 a.m. Sunday. He had chronic renal disease and underwent a kidney transplant in 2010.
