PRESIDENT Rodrigo Duterte has appointed Elpidio Vega as the new government corporate counsel based on the appointment paper released by Malacañang on Monday, October 1.

Vega's appointment paper was signed by Duterte on September 27.

He replaced former government corporate counsel Rudolf Philip Jurado, who was dismissed by Duterte in May for supposedly favoring gambling and gaming firms.

Prior to his new appointment, Vega served as the deputy government corporate counsel.

He was also named as Office of the Government Corporate Counsel's officer-in-charge following Jurado's dismissal.

Meanwhile, Duterte reappointed Dante Ang as his special envoy for international public relations, Jose De Venecia Jr. as his special envoy for intercultural dialogue and Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation, and Abdullah Mama-o as his special envoy to Kuwait.

Their appointment papers were signed on September 28. (Ruth Abbey Gita/SunStar Philippines)
