A FLYOVER under construction in Cavite province south of Metro Manila collapsed Saturday night, crushing a motorcycle and a truck and causing heavy traffic along Aguinaldo Highway.

No one was hurt in the incident, which was reported at 11:45 p.m. Saturday, May 19, said Calabarzon regional director Chief Superintendent Guillermo Eleazar.

JBL William Uy construction company, which owned the truck destroyed in the incident, has yet to issue a statement as of Sunday afternoon.

Imus City Mayor Emmanuel Maliksi said the bridge collapsed when the girder being attached to one of the beams did not fit.

Eleazar said advised motorists on Sunday to avoid the area near Aguinaldo Highway corner Daanghari Boulevard due to heavy traffic.
