MALACAÑANG said VaxCertPH, a self-service portal that will produce credible and verifiable vaccine certification, will be launched on Monday, September 6, 2021.

Departing overseas Filipino workers and Filipinos with place of residence indicating Metro Manila and Baguio City will be prioritized in the initial phase of the implementation, Malacañang said Saturday, September 4, 2021.

This self-service portal will allow local government units (LGUs) and citizens to generate their own digital vaccination certificates free of charge. The certificate may be printed or saved on the computer or phone.

Data used in generating the digital vaccination certificate will come from the Vaccination Information Management System – Immunization Registry where LGUs upload information on their vaccinated constituents.

The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), in a statement, said LGUs can make this service available by hosting its portal or booth in their area.

The DICT said it has started training designated focal persons who will be manning the portal to assist those who lack access to the internet or lack devices.

The digital vaccination certificate itself, however, is still undergoing development.

Malacañang said the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases approved during its latest meeting the soft launch of VaxCertPH on Monday. (Marites Villamor-Ilano / SunStar Philippines)

THREAT. According to a Capitol consultant, the Cebu City Government is threatening to shut down the Cebu North Bus Terminal at the back of SM City Cebu (left) and the Cebu South Bus Terminal along N. Bacalso Ave. for operating without a business permit. The Province, which runs both terminals, maintains that it operates the facilities as a public service for passengers going to the province and vice versa. /
