Less than 8,000 cases for 4th day

CORONAVIRUS disease (Covid-19) cases in the country remained below 8,000 for the fourth straight day, according to the data released by the Department of Health (DOH).

The DOH case bulletin on Saturday, October 16, 2021, listed said there are7,772 new cases, 156 additional deaths and 1,634 recovered patients.

The positivity rate declined further to 13 percent out of the 54,174 tests conducted last October 14.

Currently, there are already a total of 2,713,509 COVID-19 cases reported nationwide, of which 40,580 are deaths and 2,587,881 are recoveries.

The case fatality rate increased to 1.5 percent.

The active cases increased again to 85,048, of which 81.7 percent are mild, 6.8 percent are moderate, 6.3 percent are asymptomatic, 3.6 percent are severe, and 1.5 percent are critical. (HDT / SunStar Philippines)
