THOUSANDS of residents in Magalang town will benefit from the socialized housing project of the Municipal Government.

Mayor Romy Pecson bared this during the recent launching of the project in Barangay Santo Nino.

Rev. Fr. Dino Albert on Wednesday, December 8, led the blessing of the site where the low-cost houses will be built.

The mayor said that some 1,712 families will get their own houses once the project is completed.

On January 23, 2021, the Social Housing Finance Corporation (SHFC) entered into a partnership with the local government to provide affordable and quality shelter for the underprivileged families in the town.

"Ang proyekto nating ito ay magbibigay ng disente, mura, at magandang bahay para sa ating mga mahal na kababayan dito sa Magalang," Pecson said.

SHFC is the lead government agency tasked to undertake socialized housing for low-income earners.

Under the SHFC-LGU agreement, low interest rates will be provided to help poor families realize their dream of owning a home.
