Magnitude 6 earthquake hits Sarangani

A MAGNITUDE 6 earthquake struck Maasim town in Sarangani at 11:38 p.m. Thursday, March 26.

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) recorded the epicenter of the earthquake at 22 kilometers (km) south of the town with a depth of 41 km.

Phivolcs said the earthquake was felt at Intensity V in General Santos City and Intensity IV in Koronadal City.

Meanwhile, Phivolcs recorded instrumental Intensity VI in General Santos City; Intensity V in Tupi, South Cotabato; Malungon, Alabel and Kiamba, Sarangani; Intensity IV in Koronadal City; and Intensity I in Gingoog City, Misamis Oriental. (SunStar Philippines)
