THE Department of Health (DOH) on Friday, February 5, 2021, clarified that motorists must wear face masks when they have passengers, even if they belong to the same household.

If the motorist is alone in the vehicle, he may not wear a face mask.

The DOH said it was coordinating with the Land Transportation Office (LTO), Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB), Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA), the Inter-Agency Council for Traffic (IACT), Philippine National Police-Highway Patrol Group (PNP-HPG), and other law enforcement agencies.

The health department said violation of the said rule can result in appropriate fines and penalties. (HDT / SunStar Philippines)
