WITH Metro Manila currently under "moderate" risk classification, its positivity rate for coronavirus disease (Covid-19) continues to increase and is now inching closer to 20 percent.

According to the independent Octa Research, the seven-day positivity rate in the National Capital Region (NCR) increased to 18.9 percent, as of September 28, 2022.

This is up from the 17.5 percent positivity rate recorded on September 21.

"The NCR remains at moderate risk," said Octa.

While the positivity rate is still on the rise, the reproduction number in Metro Manila decreased to 1.10, as of September 26.

This is lower than the 1.28 recorded as of September 19.

OCTA added the average daily attack rate (Adar) in the NCR was 7.42 per 100,000 population, as of September 29.

This is a drop from the 7.83 per 100,000 population, as of September 22.

Two weeks ago, the Department of Health (DOH) said the NCR is back under the “moderate” risk classification.

On Thursday, the DOH reported that 13 out of the 17 local government units of Metro Manila are currently under the “moderate” risk classification. (HDT/SunStar Philippines)
