NATIONAL Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) Director Guillermo Eleazar conducted before dawn Monday, July 15, another surprise inspection in police stations in Metro Manila to ensure the alertness of on-duty police personnel as well as the cleanliness of the surroundings.

Eleazar inspected 10 police stations and community precincts in Mandaluyong, Manila, Taguig, Pasig and Makati.

He said none the police personnel in the stations he visited were asleep and their surroundings were clean.

“Sampung police station pero nakita natin na lahat ay malinis. Ito ‘yung nakita nating improvement, ‘yung sinasabi nating exaggerated cleanliness in line with our intensified cleanliness policy,” Eleazar said.

"Ito kasi, kapag nakita ng tao na malinis itong presinto, ang dating sa kanila ay maaliwalas, 'di ba? Saka pati ang isang lugar na malinis, ito ay nakaka-encourage ng environment na maging kaaya-aya," he added.

In the Labores police community precinct in Manila, its commander just woke up and was not in uniform when Eleazar arrived but he excused him as he was off-duty.

"So hindi natin ine-expect na ang PCP commander ay gising sa gabi at nakauniporme. Pero maganda na makita natin PCP nandu'n 'yung commander. Ibig sabihin, mas pinipili pa nila dito mag-stay kaysa umuwi," Eleazar said.

He however called the attention of a security guard at an establishment near a police station whom he found sleeping while on duty.

Eleazar earlier reminded his men to maintain the cleanliness of all police stations and precincts to promote positive outlook.

He said maintaining cleanliness also means instilling discipline among the members of the national police agency.
