OVER 800,000 overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) have been repatriated amid the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) pandemic, according to the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (Owwa).

In a social media post, Owwa Administrator Hans Leo Cacdac said that 802,538 OFWs have already been repatriated from March 2020 to November 23, 2021.

"We have hit the 800,000 mark in terms of OFWs given food, quarantined, and transported to their home regions since March 2020," said Cacdac.

"That's 800,000 OFWs personally assisted, swabbed, monitored, and transported," he added.

Of the total, he said 391,709 OFWs were repatriated in 2020.

Cacdac also said a total of 410,829 OFWs were brought home in 2021.
