Party drugs worth P9.5M concealed in parcel

AUTHORITIES arrested two women who claimed a parcel containing over 5,000 pieces of party drugs in Quezon City on Monday, July 12, 2021.

The suspects were identified as Ma. Isabella Albano, 27, a resident of Quezon City, and Jessica Muñoz, 27, a resident of Bacoor, Cavite.

They were charged with violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

The Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Inter-Agency Drug Interdiction Task Group (IADITG) said 5,637 pieces of colored ecstasy (MDMA) tablets with a price of P9,582,900 were seized from the suspects.

The illegal drugs were concealed in a foot massager declared as children’s toys and apparel, which was shipped from Neuss, Germany and arrived on June 28, 2021. (Third Anne Peralta-Malonzo / SunStar Philippines)
