Philippines logs over 2,500 Covid-19 cases

THE Department of Health (DOH) on Saturday, November 6, 2021, reported more than 2,500 new coronavirus disease (Covid-19) cases along with over 150 additional deaths.

The DOH's 4 p.m. case bulletin on Saturday showed there were 2,656 new Covid-19 cases that brought the country's caseload to 2,800,621.

The positivity rate in the country was at 5.6 percent out of the 48,218 tests conducted on November 4.

The health department also reported 154 new mortalities, which brought the country's death toll to 44,239.

The case fatality rate stood at 1.58 percent.

The DOH also reported 5,130 recoveries, bringing the country's total to 2,721,516.

This meant that 97.2 percent of Covid-19 patients were able to recover.

Less the deaths and recoveries, the country had 34,866 active Covid-19 cases or 1.2 percent.

Of the active cases, 67.1 percent were mild, 14.8 percent were moderate, 8.7 percent were severe cases, 5.6 percent were asymptomatic and 3.7 percent were critical. (HDT/SunStar Philippines)
