Poe still leads Pulse Asia's senatorial poll

REELECTIONIST Senator Grace Poe remains the most preferred senatorial candidate in the 2019 midterm elections, the latest survey conducted by pollster Pulse Asia showed.

Based on Pulse Asia's senatorial poll conducted on January 26 to 31, Poe registered a voter preference of 74.9 percent.

Reelectionist Senator Cynthia Villar secured the second spot, with 60.5 percent voter preference, the survey revealed.

Taguig Representative Pia Cayetano and former senator Manuel "Lito" Lapid followed as they registered a voter preference of 53.3 percent and 53 percent, respectively.

Also on the list were reelectionist Senators Nancy Binay (50.1 percent), Juan Edgardo Angara (48.8 percent), and Senator Aquilino "Koko" Pimentel III (45.5 percent).

Former special assistant to the President Christopher Lawrence "Bong" Go and former senator Jinggoy Estrada registered voter preference of 44.7 percent and 44.3 percent, respectively.

Villar, Cayetano, Angara, Pimentel, and Go were formally endorsed by President Rodrigo Duterte on Thursday, February 14.

Former Local Government secretary Manuel Roxas II, an opposition senatorial bet, received 41.8 percent voter preference while Ilocos Norte Governor Maria Imelda Josefa "Imee" Marcos got 41.2 percent voter preference, followed by former senator Ramon "Bong" Revilla Jr. with 40.2 percent.

Pulse Asia interviewed 1,800 registered voters, using a margin of error of ±2.3 percentage points at the 95 percent confidence level.

Subnational estimates for the geographic areas were ±6.5 percentage points for Metro Manila, ±3.5 percentage points for the rest of Luzon, ±5.3 percentage points at 95 percent confidence level. (SunStar Philippines)
