Remains of 3 more plane crash fatalities identified

THE Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) has identified the remains of three more soldiers who perished in the C-130 plane crash in Patikul, Sulu in July 2021.

Out of the 50 soldiers who died, the charred remains of 40 have now been identified by the Regional Crime Laboratory Office 9 of the Philippine National Police (PNP), the AFP said on Tuesday, August 10, 2021.

Those identified recently were the remains of Corporal Jemmar B. Mondido, Private First Class Lester Al T. Lagrada and Private First Class Bensheen V. Sabaduquia.

Their remains will be brought home and turned over to their families.

The AFP said 10 more bodies were being identified.

A total of 53 people, including three civilians, perished in the plane crash on July 4. There were 50 others who were injured, including four civilians. (Third Anne Peralta-Malonzo / SunStar Philippines)
