Truck crashes through people as driver suffers cardiac arrest

NINE people were injured when a dump truck crashed through them while they were queuing for cash assistance in San Jose Del Monte City in Bulacan on Tuesday morning, May 11, 2021.

Police Major Julius Alvaro, San Jose del Monte Police chief, said the driver of the dump truck went into cardiac arrest and lost control of the vehicle.

Truck driver Herminio Verona was declared dead at a hospital, Alvaro said.

Two of those injured are in critical condition. Three others were also brought to the hospital.

The four other injured persons sustained minor injuries and refused to be brought to the hospital.

Among those injured are Rolito Navarro, Mario dela Rosa, Analyn Tomooc, Mary Rose Espacio and Cecilia de Ramo. (SunStar Philippines)
