Ferrer claims some Love Negros mayors pledge support for him

Sunnexdesk

FOURTH District Representative Jeffrey Ferrer revealed Friday that there are already mayors who belong to the Love Negros who have expressed support to his vice gubernatorial bid in 2016.

"More than 50 percent pledged support to me. Vice Governor Lacson is a friend. In fact we have talked a while ago (during the closed-door meeting with Secretary Mar Roxas)," Ferrer said.

Governor Alfredo Marañon Jr., who leads the United Negros Alliance (Unega), has already declared that Ferrer will be his running-mate.

Like Marañon, Ferrer is also pushing his possible opponent, Vice Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson, to run for congressman in the First District and assured him of his support.

Lacson, however, had already turned down the possibility for him to run for congressman and revealed that he now has three options for 2016: to seek reelection, to run for governor, or not to run.

Meanwhile, Ferrer revealed that since his wife, Mayor Juliet Marie Ferrer of La Carlota, will be running for a congressional seat in the Fourth District, they will field Vice Mayor Luis Jalandoni for mayor. (TDE)
