Team Abu Sayyaf wins AFP-PNP Press Corps bowling

ABU Sayyaf team emerged as champions in the recently-concluded 2nd AFP-PNP Press Corps Southern Mindanao Christmas bowling tournament held at the SM Lanang Premier bowling center, Saturday.

The Abu Sayyaf team led by Arnold Calava, Jun Isidro, Roan Abasolo, Shishir Bandhari and Paul Palacio struck a total of 1,800 pinfalls after 3 games to pocket the P10,000 top purse, prevailing over Taliban team and Boko Haram team who placed second and third, respectively.

Taliban team, who was bannered by Fred Saguran, Peng Aliño, Bing Gonzales, Ruth Palo Dumandan and Efren Elbanbuena, rolled a total of 1,604 pins.

The Boko Haram team was composed of Ben Tesiorna, Anne Doble, Rose Bernales, Richy Nalagon and Ayan Mellejor.

Taliban team took home P7,000 while Boko Haram received P5,000.

Palacio and Mellejor earned special awards as the highest scoring male and female by scoring 180 and 145 pins, respectively. Both received additional P1,500 cash prize.

Vicente Danao Jr., SM Lanang Premier bowling center, Davao Oriental Governor Corazon Malanyaon, 10th Infantry Division of Philippine Army, Task Force Davao and North Cotabato Governor Lala Taliño-Mendoza.
