1 dies, another injured in truck-motorbike collision

A TEENAGER died while another was critically injured in a collision of a motorcycle and a truck along the highway in the province of Zamboanga del Sur, the police reported on Wednesday, November 1.

The police said the incident happened around 2:50 p.m., Tuesday, October 31, in the village of Sambulawan, Dinas municipality.

The police identified the fatality as Alkian Gemillan, 17, a motorcycle driver; and, Rafdan Amander, 21, the back rider.

Investigation showed the duo were on the way home after watching drag race when they bumped on a truck traveling on opposite direction.

The police said Gemillan was trying to overtake on another motorcycle at the time of the collision.

They were rushed but Gemillan failed to reached alive at a medical clinic. Amander was later transferred to the Pagadian City Medical Center. (SunStar Philippines)
