1 killed, 1 hurt in drive-by shooting

A “HABAL-HABAL” driver was killed while one of his three passengers wounded in a drive-by gun attack in the province of Zamboanga Sibugay, the police reported Wednesday.

The Zamboanga Sibugay Police Office reported that the incident took place around 5:14 p.m. Tuesday along the national highway in the village of Tigpalay, Tungawan town.

The police identified the fatality as Taha Tarawi, 35, who died from bullet wounds in the head and chest.

Wounded was Hamiya Ungcay and unscathed were Dorie Marciliano, 38, and Roselyn Catubay, 25, according to the police.

Investigation showed that the victims were travelling from the village of Lower Tungawan bound for Tigpalay village when shot by one of two men aboard another motorcycle that got abreast them.

The Tungawan police command is conducting investigation on the incident, the police said.
