12 injured in 2 road accidents

TWELVE persons, including two minors, were injured in separate accidents in Negros Occidental and Bacolod City in the past two days.

In Bago City, 10 persons were wounded after they figured in an accident involving a tricycle and a multi-cab along the national highway of Purok Maghili-ugyon, Barangay Taloc on Wednesday.

Investigation showed the multi-cab collided with a tricycle boarded by eight passengers when its driver by Arnulfo Portillo of Barangay Estefania, Bacolod City attempted to overtake.

Portillo sustained minor injuries.

The tricycle was driven by Roberto Escamilla, 45. His passengers were Ramero Berba, 20; Steve de Dios, 31; Ludebert Narciso, 30; Arnel Alvarez, 21; Reygen de Dios, 25; John Paul Magalona, 30; and two minors, all residents of Barangay Tabunan.

They were all rushed to a hospital.

In another incident, two siblings were injured after their motorcycle hit the patrol vehicle of Police Station 2 on Burgos-Lacson Streets in Bacolod City around 9 p.m. Tuesday.

Chief Inspector Benedicto Villarias Jr., head of Police Station 2, identified the victims as Peter and Russel Parcon, of Barangay 16.

Investigation showed that Peter was speeding. Personnel using the police vehicle were conducting visibility operations.

The victims were reportedly drunk, Villarias said.

They were brought to a hospital.
