CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- Some 13,812 indigent residents from Arayat and Sta. Ana benefitted from Philippine Health Insurance Corporation's (PhilHealth) “Alaga Ka Para sa Maayos na Buhay” (Alaga Ka) program that provides member data record (MDRs) at no cost.

With the goal of providing indigent families with greater access to healthcare services, Governor Lilia Pineda along with PhilHealth personnel recently distributed 10,047 MDRs in Arayat and 3,765 MDRs in Sta. Ana respectively.

In her speech, the governor urged the beneficiaries to maximize the use of their health insurance and seek medical attention when needed.

The governor said beneficiaries can also avail of free medical consultations through their respective rural health units and are entitled to receive free take home medicines under the Tamang Serbisyo para sa Kalusugan ng Pamilya Program (TSeKaP) for indigent PhilHealth members.

“Poverty is no longer an excuse for forgoing needed medical exams or checkups. With your PhilHealth cards you can avail free and quality medical services,” added Governor Pineda.

Aside from the distribution of MDRs, the governor also announced that the provincial Capitol allotted P50 million for the “point of care” program that will be beneficial to non-Philhealth members.

Present during the distribution were Congressman Oscar Rodriguez, Arayat Mayor Bon Alejandrino, Sta. Ana Mayor Omeng Conception, board member Rosve Henson, board member aspirant and outgoing Vice Mayor Jun Canlas, PSWDO Elizabeth Baybayan and other local officials. (Liezel Cayanan/Pampanga PIO)
