A TWO-DAY “Balik Eskwela Diskwento Bonanza” is set on May 30 to 31 to provide the opportunities to parents and students buy school supplies at discounted prices.

Department of Trade and Industry Provincial Director Ceferino Rubio said during the event, school supplies that include bags, uniforms, and shoes, will be sold as discounted prices ranging from 10 to 50 percent.

It will be held at the Plaza Pershing, which will be participated by some 25 local business establishments.

The conduct of the diskwento bonanza is a regular program of DTI to help parents and students lessen expenses in time for the opening of classes in June.

Rubio said the department is closely monitoring the prices of basic and prime commodities, including school supplies, to ensure these are sold based on the suggested retail price. (Bong Garcia/SunStar Philippines)
