ANGELES CITY -- Two suspected drug pushers were killed in a drug bust operation conducted in Barangay Cutud by the city police over the weekend.

The Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) of the local police identified the fatalities as James Pecson Santos, 29 and Ronnel Gamboa Dunglao, both residents of 119 San Pedro Dos in nearby Magalang town, Pampanga province.

The DEU stated in its report that Santos is believed to be the leader of a carnap and robbery group operating in Pampanga and Tarlac.

At 1:15 a.m., Saturday, September 9, personnel of Angeles City DEU led by Inspector Gerald Quiambao and the Intelligence Branch and City Public Safety Company, conducted drug bust operation in said village which led to the arm encounter between the suspects and the policemen.

Santos and Dunglao reportedly drew firearms at the DEU team members after sensing that they were dealing with police officers who acted to be drug buyers and users.

The policemen retaliated which resulted to the suspects’ instantaneous death.

The bodies of the suspects were brought to the Funeraria Pangilinan, police said.
