TWO boys, aged 11 and 12, suffered from electric shock while apparently trying to cut electrical wires on a skywalk on Osmena Blvd. in Cebu City Thursday morning, January 14.

Police, with help from sidewalk vendors, identified the victims as rugby boys who would often pick pockets and steal wires in places near the Fuente Osmena Circle.

The boys were rushed to the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center by a passing ambulance from the town of Consolacion, after its driver found the younger boy leap from the skywalk, while the other one was lying on the skywalk's roof, unconscious with burnt face and limbs, around 9:30 a.m.

PO2 Joseph Jungao, investigator assigned on the case, said the younger boy also sustained minor injuries. His shorts got snagged on one of the wires as he leaped, so he only had his shirt on when he reached the ground. (DTJ/Sun.Star Cebu)
