MANILA (Updated) -- South Korea's Foreign Ministry said the two men and one woman who were found in a sugarcane field in Bacolor, Pampanga, with gunshots to their head are South Koreans.

The three foreigners, earlier identified by the Police Regional Office in Central Luzon as Taiwanese, were found dead around 6 a.m. Tuesday, October 11, by a farm worker.

Police investigator Victor Eduardo said Thursday, October 13, that police are still determining the identities and nationalities of three.

He said all three had gunshot wounds on their temples. One man had his feet bound by packaging tape, the other man and the woman had marks of strangulation and the left wrist of the woman also had packaging tape.

South Korea's Foreign Ministry said it was the fourth homicide case involving South Koreans in the Philippines this year in which six died. It said it will work with the Philippine police for a quick investigation, but provided no other details.

Eduardo said South Korea's police attache in Manila is expected to meet with police in Bacolor on Thursday, and police too are asking the help of the Korean community in the province to establish the victims' identities.(AP/Sunnex)
