50 drug surrenderers attend Kabankalan wellness camp

FIFTY of the 669 drug surrenderers in Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental compose the first batch of the participants of a five-day wellness camp.

Superintendent Rhea Santos, chief of Kabankalan City Police Station, said the 50 male drug users were housed in a seminar house in Himamaylan City for the first step of drug recovery program.

The program, being initiated by the City Anti-Drugs Advisory Council (Cadac) with the help of the city government, police, and other agencies, started on Monday and will end on Friday.

The objective of the program is for drug surrenderers to learn values and know the consequences of drug abuse. They will also learn how to change for the better and understand the challenges in the society. They will undergo healing and reformation to change their social values as well. (GYM)
