MARCH 8, 2018 marked the beginning of the six-month feeding program sponsored by devotees of Mary Mediatrix from the Archdiocesan Shrine and Parish of St. Therese of the Child Jesus in Barangay Lahug, Cebu City.

This program has been organized in partnership with Feed The Children and NU Skin, the sponsor of the Vitameal packs.

At least 250 children, accompanied by their mothers, turned up for the launching, which was graced by NU Skin officers from Manila and their Cebu distributors, some Mary Mediatrix devotees, and Feed the Children staff and volunteers.

Aside from the Vitameal-based champorado, they also received loot bags from NU Skin and packed lunch.

This feeding program will benefit at least 400 children, aged two to five, most of whom are not enrolled in school. These children come from the five areas in Sitio Laguerta, Lahug.

The feeding will be done three times a week for six months. The mothers were trained to prepare the food either as champorado, binignit or arroz caldo.

With Vitameal as the main ingredient, the program hopes to rehabilitate the undernourished children in the place.
