76 percent line agencies chartered

Sunnexdesk

SEVENTY-SIX percent of all line agencies in the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) already have their versions of the citizen’s charter.

George Manzano, head of the Civil Service Commission (CSC) Cordillera said that out of the 121 line agencies in the region, only 41 are yet to enact their charters.

The formulation of the citizen’s charter is mandated by Republic Act 9485, or the Anti Red Tape Act, said Manzano. The Red Tape Act helps minimizing fixers and imposes violations on fixers.

A fixer will be held liable for an imprisonment of six months or a fine of not less than P20,000 but not more than P200,000 or both upon the discretion of the court. ( Visha Calventas)
