THE reigning All-Women Ultra Marathon (AWUM) champion Jade Abellana is lowering her expectation for this year’s edition, opening the doors for others to take the victory.

The event, which is on its third edition, is set on March 8 and will start at the Capitol grounds and end at the Alta Cebu Village Resort and Convention, Cordova, Cebu.

AWUM is a 50-km ultra marathon exclusive for women held in celebration of the International Women's Month this March. Organizers closed their registration last Jan. 15 with 250 female ultra runners.

“I am taking the chill pill for this upcoming event. My preparation is just to take me to the finish line,” Abellana said.
